Well for today’s post, I thought I’d talk about what I’ve been working on recently in my free time, well apart from sorting out arrangements for my birthday party 
First on the agenda was to answer the common question of what is “the SpikedEffect” and who it was that was behind it, so I activated the FAQ section on SpikedEffect.com and created a category to answer the common questions that could be asked about what SpikedEffect.com actually is and who it is that is behind it. This can be found HERE
Next up was the need to start the thinking behind a module I have been meaning to implement for a while now so that I could continue development on the part of my site created in Macromedia Flash, this module that I’ll be creating I can reveal is a management system for the poems that I have written. “Ok, but what and how has that got to do with your flash side of the site?”, I hear you ask, well its because I intend my flash side of the site to be able to utilize the information entered in the admin of the module…
This could potentially be a troublesome task if not planned correctly, and this is the reason that I am actually creating a proper design and development document for the module in an aim to reduce the amount of wasted time.

At the moment I am not sure whether to open the system up so that the general public can submit their own poems to have them on display on SpikedEffect.com after moderation, but I may include that idea as a possible expandable feature. The module will allow you to browse through the collection, vote on the poems and possibly leave comments on them (Not fully decided on that yet – but highly probable). That’s all I can really say for now without giving too much away, but the design document must be done first so that I can have a structured development plan in place so that I can use my free time affectively.
Once that is done, then the highly anticipated Flash side of the website will take place, it has actually been partly developed before, but development stopped when I found myself with other things in life that had to take priority, just to prove it here is a sneak peek of what was done before:
However, looking back at it recently, I really don’t like the design so it will be getting a revamp, when that time comes around I will be doing some mock flat designs, and I will be inviting the users of SpikedEffect.com to choose their favourite design that they would like to see implemented, so watch the news on SpikedEffect.com to have your say when the time comes.
At the moment I can’t put a time scale on all this though, as I am helping someone out with some design work in my free time as well, I can’t say much about it as its down to that someone to decide if they want to say anything about the design and features of what I am helping them out with. But just know I’ll be working on many caffeine induced evenings and mornings to get things done as soon as possible, after these things are done, I have ideas for some bigger projects, more programming based then web design based… But those details I’ll keep to myself until nearer the time.
