Before I start once again I have to apologize for the delay in my next post on here, its been a busy weekend. And what great results for the England’s teams in rugby and football hey…
Anyway, on with the topic… Long distance love and relationships… With today’s technologies it has become a lot easier with most of the world connected to the internet in some form or another, communication has become incredibly easier, with instant messaging services which have been round for a while now like MSN Messenger©, Yahoo Instant Messenger©, AOL Instant Messenger© and ICQ©, that was the first step in connecting the world…
On top of that with the new revolution of VoIP (Voice Over IP) services like Skype© allow you to call fellow skype users across the world for Free with quality clearer than that of the average phone call! And for a cheap “Skype Global Rate©” which covers the major countries around the world you can call landlines and mobiles throughout the world for as little as 1.3p a minute…
So it’s getting a lot easier to keep in touch and keep in contact with those around the world… and therefore opening the door further for the so called Long Distance relationship… But it doesn’t take a genius to know that phone calls, daily chats can’t replace the physical aspects of a relationship, the hugs you need when your down, that comforting presence of the one you love… So sure it may be easier to be in contact… But is it enough?
“But it doesn’t take a genius to know that phone calls, daily chats can’t replace the physical aspects of a relationship.”
Well it can be, but you have to be very strong to keep with it, you see no matter how much you care for someone or how much you believe they are the only person you wish to be with, if they are the other side of the world, it can be very difficult to cope with. You’ll walk down your street and see couples all loving and caring towards each other and you begin to feel a sense of lonliness, even if you do have someone caring and loving you unconditionally on the other side of the world, it just begins to seem not enough…
So how do you deal with it? and how do you cope with that sense of loneliness due to lack of physical comfort? Well the easy option is of course just to give up and run from it, which seems to be the most common path walked, and before you feel bad, its not as bad as it sounds… Chances are the other party concerned feel the same way, so its best to talk to them about it, and try and think of the best course of action together…
It’s an old saying, but they say “If it’s meant to be, it will be” and I believe there is a lot of truth in that, even if you have to put your “love” on hold whilst you overcome your distance, that time can really show if how you feel is real… If it is, then your plans to be together after conquering that distance, will make the love and care you feel for each other even stronger, knowing you made it past what most people don’t.
If it doesn’t work out the way you planned, don’t feel down, and don’t feel disheartened, just know that you found out that the person you cared about ended up being happy and that is what is should matter ultimatly. Of course its never easy knowing the person you love or care about is with someone else, but if you can put jealousy aside, as I said you will realise they are happy and that is what matters…
“they say “If it’s meant to be, it will be” and I believe there is a lot of truth in that, even if you have to put your “love” on hold whilst you overcome your distance, that time can really show if how you feel is real…”
So, is it wise to avoid long distance relationships? Depends how strong you are I guess as a person… But don’t forget you can’t control who you fall in love with or when, but be prepared to put the person you love’s happiness before all else, and just remember, “If It’s Meant To Be, It Will Be”…

Wow, you really said exactly what I was thinking. I’m glad to see I’m not alone. A distance relationship is the hardest thing I have ever done, there’s 11,000 miles between me and the girl of my dreams, but she’s coming back in 48 days!!! I hope that our love is strong enough to over come every obstacle.
