It’s All About The Optimizations…

It's All About The Optimizations Image

Well, I thought today I would talk about SEO… I can hear some of you going “what is SEO? A new type of car?” and the answer is, no, its an acronym for Search Engine Optimization, why talk about it? Because I have just spent quite a bit of time making SpikedEffect.com Search engine friendly so its at the forefront of my mind, and it’s also a big part of my job at work.

Why do you have to make a website search engine friendly? Shouldn’t the webcrawlers (what search engines use to index the World Wide Web) adapt themselves to accommodate for every website out there? In theory yes, it should be the responsibility of the webcrawler to adapt to and pick up your website’s content, but in reality, remember that the web is a vast array of information, and its not all uniform.

As new methods of displaying web content arise on the web the webcrawler’s job becomes increasingly difficult, and it just can’t accommodate for the wide variety out there…

The Definition of Love Image

Hey there again, sorry ONCE AGAIN for the delay in a new post on here, my main computer needed a reformat so I spent a week formatting, installing, configuring etc…

So on with the show as they say… “Love” that well known emotion… But also the most misunderstood of all emotions, it can be the source of all the other emotions, as well as the cure for them… When you are “in” love, everything in the world can seem unbreakable and unblemishable… When you’re “out” of love, things can seem bleak, and tainted…

But I am not here to talk about the effects of love… But more what love is? I guess in a lot of ways that’s a brave question to tackle, and one that I most likely wont be able to answer… Well at least not to a level everyone can accept…

Just Randomity and General Thoughts Image

Hey there, well first off sorry for the few days I haven’t written here, I’ve been busy with work and also typical weekend commitments LOL

So… What to talk about today? Haven’t really got a specific topic on my mind this morning, I am watching sky news as I type, and the topic of bullying is quite prominent at the moment, but since I have written about that before (look at the post titled “that inner tear”) so am not going to chat on about that…

So lets go briefly through what has laid about my mind over the past week, with all the hype surrounding the latest consoles (XBox 360, Nintendo Revolution & PS3) you begin to get lost in all the technical babble if you have no idea what they are talking about, which would probably be most of the consumer market, its like they are trying to induce the “WOW!” factor… But it does leave me thinking which console I should get, if I get any…

Pressures Of Today’s Society…

Pressures Of Today's Society Image

In today’s world, we all live, lives of expectation not only in the goals we set ourselves, but of social standards and ways of thinking…

I guess the main aspect of this is social acceptability, and the attitude and persona you adapt to, just so that you can fit in… Personally I do not believe in changing yourself to suit others, but in today’s age and society there are quite a majority that do…

But the pressures you can put yourselves under in trying to achieve this “acceptability” is quite astonishing at times, and it proves to be the source of depression and in some cases conditions such as bulimia which are know to source closely from the pressures of today’s society.

That Long Distance Kiss Image

Before I start once again I have to apologize for the delay in my next post on here, its been a busy weekend. And what great results for the England’s teams in rugby and football hey…

Anyway, on with the topic… Long distance love and relationships… With today’s technologies it has become a lot easier with most of the world connected to the internet in some form or another, communication has become incredibly easier, with instant messaging services which have been round for a while now like MSN Messenger©, Yahoo Instant Messenger©, AOL Instant Messenger© and ICQ©, that was the first step in connecting the world…

On top of that with the new revolution of VoIP (Voice Over IP) services like Skype© allow you to call fellow skype users across the world for Free with quality clearer than that of the average phone call! And for a cheap “Skype Global Rate©” which covers the major countries around the world you can call landlines and mobiles throughout the world for as little as 1.3p a minute…

The Comfort Of Music Image

Over the last few weeks I have been hearing many things about audioscrobbler and Last.fm so I thought I’d sign up to it and try it out myself…

Audioscrobbler is a huge online music database which records on an online database what tracks your listen to using your favourite media player and add statistics and so on to a personal profile just for you, which shows your listening habits…

Now having given in to the latest internet “fad”, it made me think about why the music industry does so well… It doesn’t take a genius to realize sometimes it is just the irresistible chorus, and the beat that makes you start to dance or tap your foot. Depending on the kind of listener you are that may be all there is to it…

That Inner Tear…

That Inner Tear Image

Having watched the news a minute ago, there was a new story regarding bullying within schools and it made me think back to when I first started at school in Bristol, and how I was subject to bullying to begin with…

But how does bullying effect people? Well its obvious it effects them there and then, but I am thinking beyond that. I think you can see it kind of like a glass with a crack in it, it will still work and hold liquid, but any further pressure on that crack and the glass will break or fall apart.

In the same way I believe the tears that are shed during the bullying don’t totally disappear, an inner tear remains as a reminder of what went on in the past. Like with any other pain you face in life, experiencing being bullied makes you grow stronger so that you can overcome it, yet deep down that bullying will leave an insecurity in you waiting to be triggered. If someone manages to find that trigger, that “soft spot” you could find that insecurity showing face again and emotions boiling up from the past.

It's A Crowded Mind Road Image

First off, sorry for the delay in my next post, on Saturday I had to totally rebuild my PC to fix a motherboard defect… So I spent most of the day doing that… Great fun… Not! But am back so w00t.

If you haven’t realized by now by the way, all the pictures I have used so far in my blog are caption images I have created specially for this blog to match the thoughts I depict here, so I hope you enjoy that part of the blog as well…

So today’s blog, what to talk about? Well the last few blogs have been words, I guess, of advice for problems I have faced in the past, that maybe someone on the day has inspired me to write about, or simply because it lurks at the back of my mind…

Today I deal with my own thoughts, my own state of mind… I guess in some ways I am a worrier, not that I show it much, but it seems it’s part of my nature… Possibly because I care too much? But why try and throttle who I am? I guess you could say it protects me from hurt better, but I’ve tried it and I just don’t feel comfortable doing so… So, I continue to care, no matter what caring comes packaged with…

Taking The Long Road Image

Of late I’ve felt a bit like I’ve been burning the candle at both ends, there are a lot of “projects” I want to work on but its just a matter of finding the time… There is so much I wish to achieve in life, and yet in perspective not that much time to do it…

In today’s society it seems that if you want to go anywhere there is only one route to take and that’s the long road of progression. Things in life don’t come easy and you have to work for them, sometimes harder than normal… Depending on your personality and mentality, that can be a hell of a lot easier for some rather than others…

Some of the decisions you find yourself making could prove to be very painful decisions to make, but they need to be done to progress down that road ahead of you in life. You have to keep a positive view on things, because if you don’t you could find yourself loosing your determination and your will to carry on…
